Dressing During Pregnancy with Natasha Zoe Rohan
Natasha Zoe Rohan is known for her relaxed yet considered personal style. The Los Angeles-based creative explores how her first pregnancy and transition into motherhood have impacted her approach to dressing.
What do you consider before investing in pieces for your wardrobe?
I like to keep a minimal, rotating wardrobe of well-made pieces that I know I will actually gravitate towards again and again. I also consider how clothing will feel on my body, so I only really wear natural fibers that I know are breathable and will soften with age.

During pregnancy, what were you mostly drawn to?
I’m drawn to pieces with ease during pregnancy. I don’t want my clothing to feel overly styled, so I reach for things that are impactful without trying too hard. I pay close attention to drape and interesting details. Ultimately, an outfit that feels comfortable for my ever-changing body.
How would you explain your approach to personal style?
I’m certainly laid back when it comes to my personal style, pregnant or not. Comfort is a key pillar for me. If something is too tight or irritating to my body, it just won’t work. I lean towards looser fits but love to play with proportions.
Have you experienced an evolution or shift in your style since becoming a mother-to-be?
A lot of the shifts in my style have begun out of necessity and then shifted into a preference. For example, pre-pregnancy, I never wore low-rise bottoms, but now I find it too uncomfortable to have anything touching my belly, so I exclusively wear low waist pants and skirts, and now I genuinely like the way that looks on my body. I have also really come to embrace pieces that can stretch or are oversized - meeting me wherever my body is at and through different life phases.
What was your favourite trimester to dress in and why?
The third trimester has been the most challenging and yet the most fun to dress. I am grateful to be this far along in the summer so I can wear very little! It has been so beautiful to embrace my ever-shifting body and find new ways to style myself that remain true to my core values and desires. I have bought barely any maternity clothing and have instead loved wearing pieces that work on my pregnant body as much as they will postpartum. I love longevity in clothing above anything else.
