Embracing the beauty of slow living and timeless style, Innes Heywood is known for her feminine swimwear label
Innes Lauren. Here, she shares her inspirations behind the brand with us and her approach to dressing upon entering motherhood.
What are the main influencers behind your gorgeous swim brand Innes Lauren?
I have many old photographs from my childhood growing up in east Bali; of my Mum in swimsuits when she was my age, to when we were a young family; photos of my Dad in silks and Batik sarongs. This time in my life was very impactful and is a strong source of inspiration and influence behind Innes Lauren. My love for the ocean and the romance of a secluded, sweet swimming spot is also an influence behind designing swimwear.
How do you want to make women feel when wearing your designs?
I would like women to feel beautiful, safe and supported. To feel liberated in their feminine expression.
How does your personal style influence your approach to your space?

I have been enjoying yoga on my deck in the early morning, to get my body moving while practicing some opening postures for labor. I have been listening to other women's birth stories which I find comforting and educational.
As women one of our innate skills is our intuition, can you expand on how intuition plays a part in your business and when it comes to decision-making?
Well I think it shows up in a way where I just know what the right decision is, when I am truly connected to my body and trust in myself, my intuition leads and it normally never fails me, It’s a powerful thing really.
